Dizzywalker
Artist statement and biography of Didem Zeynep Gungor - Dizzywalker. Explore the intention, materials, and process behind the work, with highlights from the Blooming Dreams collection.
I am a self taught artist working under the name Dizzywalker. I paint nature to speak about resilience, fragility, and renewal, using flowers, thistles, skies, and layered textures as a language for both personal memory and shared experience. My practice combines ecological awareness with emotional depth, often built on reclaimed supports such as oyster boxes and recycled frames. I began painting in 2006 as a personal challenge, alongside a long corporate career that continued until 2025. In 2023 I returned to the studio with intention, and in 2025 I made the transition from a private practice to a professional one. Today I create original works and signed limited edition prints with the same care for craft, material, and meaning.
Current Series
Blooming Dreams explores resilience, fragility, and renewal through floral forms, thistles, and open skies. The surfaces are built in layers, allowing the work to hold both quiet tenderness and strength. Reclaimed materials are central to the series, not decorative, giving ecological awareness a physical presence in each piece.
